Our honey moon trip to Mallorca.
We stayed in Hotel "Bahia Del Sol", that is located in Santa Ponca (South East side). The city is realy nice, ordered. 50-100 meter from hotel there is one of the best beaches (in my opinion) in all Mallorca. Near the beach there are parrots flying, you can also take a sea bike, search for suveniers or smth. Going to the North from the beach you can find entertainment place. Disco parties and other stuff is happening here. You can also buy some suveniers at night time, when all other shops are already closed.
For the same place not to get bored we rented a car for 5 days (peugeot 207- 150eur, if I am right). It is very cool that the island is quite small itself (100 x 70 km) and you can get everywhere quite fast. The road marking is also fantastic. Bellow I added the map, that we considered with our guide. The squeres show areas that we were visiting at a specific day. The map will open in a new window, I think it is better to have it seperately, and zoom in if needed.
1 DAY - we didn't get too far at first day. VALLDEMOSSA - NAFORADADA - DEJA. Valldemossa is a nice town, main objects in that town are monastery and museum. Latter you can take a walk on old downtown streets. Na Foradada - is a very nice cape. we found very nice restaurant there and stopped for a break. Actually we were going to try their national dish - "Paella". It is sea food, meat (or both) mixed with rice (yellow color) and garnish. That was quite some fun with driving when we were going down to Deja. Besides, the cyclists are one more commonly seen thing. They don't worry trying to pass cars, sometimes the whole traffic is being stopped. Anyway, that is not a very big problem. When we were already at the town, we didn't saw anything fabulous, the main beauty was while going down.
2 DAY - POLLENCA - FORMENTOR - ALCUDIA. Pollenca - the city with couple nice churches, interesting road to survey area, about 200-300 meters up with stairs. The main beauty start in Formentor. You can see how nice it is in photos. In reality it is even 100 more impressive. Alcudia is a city with thick guarding wall, also with some other nice places.
3 DAY - After some days we took a bit more even trip. We were going to Port De Soller, there took a boat and got to Sa Calobra. There we stayed in a very nice beach for a half of day. We had very peaceful and quiet time. When it was getting bothering to lay in the sun we were swimming, then walking in the pass. When going back we also visited Fornalutx and Soller, but the foto camera was discharged, so no photos from there. There is a very nice church in Fornalutx, that can be found very hard. As we still had some time we also visited the capital of Mallorca - Palma. There are a lot of boats, people and other stuff, but you can see all that while going to your hotel. So there are only couple places that you have to visit - Cathedral, Castle and if you are shopaholic - supermarkets.
4 DAY - real marathon MANACOR - FELANITX - SANT SALVADOR - SANTANYI - CAP SALINES - CALA PI. Manacor is known for its pearl factory. Sant Salvador has nice monastery, that is very high and you can see all the island from that point. Near the Santanyi there is a botanic garden. The entrance there is ~7-8 Eur. But it is probably one of the nicest places I have ever seen. When I was checking photos, I couldn't understand how the view and impression can differ so much. Cap salines has nice stone beach with a lot of stone towers. As I was reading in a book they symbolize strength and stability of a pair who made that tower. We also build one :) Cala Pis simply nice place with cylindrical building, that archaeologists still don't know what it is.
5 DAY - El TORO - ANDRATX - PORT D'ANDRATX - SANT ELM - MAGALUF. El Toro - is a simple beach, nothing fancy. I remember one story. As I was diving with glasses, I picked a lot of shell and brought them to my wife. After some time she asked me to come and showed me some king of crabs that were appearing from those shells. She asked me to get them back to their homes and put back in to the sea. :) Port d'Andratx - lots of nice yachts. After some walk in a town we sit to have a brake and taste some meals. The service was very good, the food was perfect, one of the best I have tried ever (except my moms dishes ofcourse) the bill was also quite impressive :) Sant Elm - one more beach, the floor is covered with stones, lots of fishes medusas, a bit scary when you are diving with glasses. Also forget to mention, lots of Spaniard women don't wear they top clothing while having sun tan.
At the evening we went to Magaluf, that is one of the most craziest places, the life starts here in the evening, lots of teenagers, performance. When we were there The Spaniards were celebrating they victory in semifinal, so the view was quite attracting.
